Too many solutions providers will tell a you that they have the answers to your problems before they even discuss the matter in depth. This always causes us to ask - how would they know? The answer to that is simple:
They have a canned solution.
They could fix your problem, but only if you are willing to change how it is your organization functions to suit the limitations of their software, invest in unnecessary forklift upgrades, and agree that moving the problem outside of your domain counts as a "win". Quite often they will tell you that's the only way it can be done.We are happy to report that this is untrue. Our methodology for providing the solutions your organization needs is two-fold:
- Our 4D process ensures we understand your processes and infrastructure, and that our solution will provide everything you need
- Building your solution using an ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) approach to enable quick Integration and scalability.
The 4D Process
Discover
Discovery is the initial phase of the project where a Metabolyst Healthcare analyst will walk through the customers business processes documenting the existing workflow(s). Our deliverable for the Discovery phase is a high level document describing one or more technology paths that lead to a solution of your problem. This phase typically takes from one day to two weeks. After this phase is complete we can provide fixed cost pricing for the Design Stage.Design
Design is the phase where a detailed scope document is created. The scope document is a collaborative endeavor used to ensure that both the customer and Metabolyst agree on what is to be developed. Once the customer has signed off on the scope document the development can begin. It is during this phase that both parties agree on a method for making changes to the project scope once the development has started. Timing for the design phase varies from a few days to several weeks and is typically performed at our office in Atlanta and the customer site. After this phase is complete we can provide fixed cost pricing for the Development and Delivery Stage.Develop
Development is the phase of the project where the system is constructed. This is where the "sandbox" is created. A sandbox is a non-production development system used for developing, debugging and testing a customer's solution. The length of time for development depends on the scope of the project and the number of systems to be integrated. It can take from one week to several months. After it is installed Metabolyst will come on-site for final debug and testing.Deliver
Delivery is the final phase of the project. During this phase the project the complete solution is put into production. End user training is also included in this portion of the project. Delivery takes approximately one to three weeks. The first task is end user training (2-3 days depending on number of users) followed by a series of follow up visits. Experience has shown that users have many questions after they begin using the system that they don't have during training. These follow up visits are designed to accelerate the learning curve.ESB Architecture
What is Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Architecture?
ESB architecture is a relatively new approach to designing and creating solutions that emphasizes scalability, flexibility, and the leveraging of existing resources through the use of web services to facilitate intelligent, content based routing according to business rules. What does that mean in normal English?
Basically, by creating highly adaptive and versatile "building blocks", we can construct solutions that grow when you grow, adapt when your organization changes, and works in your existing infrastructure. How is that any different than the other systems?
Other systems use a monolithic central solution with modules added on to give extra functionality. Our system uses point solutions that seamlessly integrate into each other, and existing systems, to create sophisticated answers to each hospitals unique problems. You have a problem that you want fixed. How would you prefer to resolve the issue?
- By purchasing a “pre-built” solution with 80% of the functionality you want that would require a large investment in new infrastructure and a significant change in how you execute.
- By purchasing a solution that uses your existing infrastructure to accomplish 100% of your goals and adapts to your methodology, reducing the steps it takes for you to execute.
Metabolyst solutions are built on the idea that you would prefer the second option. You don't adapt to our modules, they adapt to you. Our solutions are built for you, based around how your organization works, and the environment that it is done in. We don't think you should have to settle when it comes to solving your critical issues.
